Words, they are the most powerful force on earth. Words have the ability to create and also destroy. Words formed the very fabric of society. They are more important than time, space and matter.
While it is true that we cannot turn the hands of time, we could redeem lost time by speaking simple words into the air or to the ears of an individual and a seemingly hopeless situation will turn on its head just like that.
Words can create both space and matter. Your words can give substance to things, things abstract, things imagined. Words do create space, it creates avenues for innovations and inventions.
Words can unite, words can dissemble.
Your words if fitly spoken together can create opportunities for you where there were none.
Your words will work for you or against you depending on how masterful you use it.
You are at least a communication away from your desired breakthrough. The right communication with the right person can take you from zero to hero in a matter of minutes.
The more compelling you become as a communicator, the more your words will begin to work for you.
Tips on how to be on your way to becoming an effective communicator:
1. Become a good listener
For one to become a great communicator, he or she must first be a great listener.
Becoming a great listener will make you appreciate effective communication when it is coming from others, because, you must have gone through the pain of hearing a lot of gibberish talk for so long due to your effective listening that you would not want to communicate in the same token to others (i.e you would not want others to go through the pain of listening to gibberish coming from you).
2. Listen to what you are saying all the time.
Pay intent attention to what you are saying both to yourself and to others. It will help make your words weightier and better expressed each time.
3. Speak from a place of conviction: people can always tell when you are persuaded about what you are speaking to them about.
In other to speak with conviction, you must become a person of conviction yourself. So how will I become a person of conviction? Look out for my next post.
4. Humans are beings shaped by influence, so speak with the intention of influencing the recipient.
Each time you speak, try to be conscious of the fact that your words can and should indeed be able to influence it's recipient.
The more you become convinced that your words are influencing it's audience the more influential it will turn out to be each time.
5. Be genuinely concerned about people.
Be genuinely interested about the wellness of others. The more this is true for you, the more you will communicate your words with more grace to it's hearers for their edification.
